Faktisch verschärft Washington die Seeblockade, die mit dem Piratenstück gegen den venezolanischen Öltanker eh schon an Geschwindigkeit gewann. Hier nur zwei Dinge: Zum einen schwafelt der Typ von Öl und Land, das Venezuela den USA gestohlen habe: eben die Ölfelder in Venezuela. Das wiederholt er gerne. Deswegen verhänge das Weisse Haus eine Totalblockade aller Öllieferungen und blaba. Absurdität als Waffe zum Einpeitschen der richtigen Stimmung an der Basis, für das Aushungern der venezolanischen Unterklassen mit oder ohne Bombardierungsterror.
Und andererseits ist das die Fortsetzung einer jahrelangen US-Politik. Die New York Times, führendes Medium im «besonnenen» Teil der US-Politik, erörtert heute einmal mehr die Frage, ob die Kaperung eines Schiffes, das Waren eines anderen Landes in ein weiteres unabhängiges Land transportiert, wirklich legal sei. Wir lernen: Nur, wenn ein US-Bundesrichter dies anordnet.
