Immigration and Customs Enforcement, wie sich die zum Inlandsicherheitsministerium gehörende Zentralstelle für die Jagd auf MigrantInnen offiziell nennt, ist berüchtigt, mörderisch. Aber nichts pervers genug, um nicht noch eins draufzusetzen. Die Selbsthilfeorganisation Familias Unidas en Acción in New Orleans hat auf einen bittet die honduranische Regierung, ihr Konsulat in New Orleans von der 1250 Poydras St. an eine andere Adresse zu verlegen. Warum? Weil sich an der gleichen Adresse die ICE-Büros befinden.
Kein Versehen. Wie könnte ein Konsulat, das eigentlich nonstop im Einsatz gegen den Feind sein müsste, ignorieren, wo der seine Zentrale hat? Viel wahrscheinlicher ist irgendein Arrangement, etwa: Der drogendealende De-facto-Präsident in Honduras darf seinen Geschäften etwas ruhiger nachgehen, bezahlen tut es die in die USA abgewanderte und geflüchtete Comunidad. Aber vor allem: ein Experiment des rasenden Zynismus ist lanciert. Spannend, so von oben betrachtet.

Petition to relocate the Consulate of Honduras in New Orleans/ Petición para la reubicación del Consulado de Honduras en Nuevo Orleans
It is with
great concern and anguish that we inform you that the Honduran consulate has
moved from its location at 365 Canal St to 1250 Poydras St, Suite #100, the
same building where ICE offices are located and where many have been victims of
discrimination, hatred, family disintegration (separation of families by
deportation), criminalization and terror by a government that dehumanizes
immigrants. ICE is an entity known for violating our human rights, violating our
lives and separating our families.
Familias Unidas en Acción, an organization that has been fighting for immigrant
families in New Orleans for several years, is extending an awareness campaign
to all organizations, groups and individuals that promote the civil rights of
immigrant communities, that respect human rights and who reject the
dehumanization of any person based on race, country of origin, sexual
orientation, religion or other. With the objective of exposing this wrongful
decision, which further promotes the pain and trauma and anguish of the
Honduran immigrant community, we ask you to join our campaign and sign this
petition to relocate the Honduran Consulate General to a location where the
lives of all Hondurans are respected and procedures can be carried out with
dignity.
By signing this document you and your organization are joining in solidarity in
our demand to the CHANCELLERY OF HONDURAS to relocate the Consulate of Honduras
in New Orleans to a place where the dignity, integrity and well-being of the
Honduran people and their families are respected.

en Nuevo Orleans se ha movido de su ubicación en 365 Canal St a 1250 Poydras
St, Suite #100, el mismo edificio donde se encuentran las oficinas de ICE y
donde muchos han sido víctimas de discriminación, odio, desintegración familiar
(separación de familias por deportaciones), criminalización y terror por parte
de un gobierno que deshumaniza a los inmigrantes. ICE es una entidad conocida
por violar nuestros derechos humanos, violentando nuestras vidas y separando
nuestras familias.
Familias Unidas en Acción, una organización que ha estado luchando por las
familias inmigrantes en Nuevo Orleans por varios años, está extendiendo una
campaña de concientización a todas las organizaciones, grupos e individuos que
promueven los derechos civiles de las comunidades inmigrantes, que respetan los
derechos humanos y que rechazan la deshumanización de cualquier persona basada
en raza, país de origen, orientación sexual, religión u otro. Con el objetivo
de exponer esta decisión tan mal acertada, que promueve más el dolor, el trauma
y angustia de la comunidad inmigrante Hondureña, les pedimos que se unan a
nuestra campaña y firmen esta petición para reubicar el Consulado General de
Honduras a una ubicación donde se respete las vidas de todos los hondureños y
se pueda efectuar trámites de forma digna.
